Please note that Delilah is an instructions based pattern - but it does include sleeve and pocket pattern pieces. There are no pattern pieces for the bodice or the skirt as these are based on your body measurements and personal choice.

Delilah is our first PDF pattern and is a self-drafted sundress made from a simple series of rectangles based on your body measurements. This gives you the chance to play around with fabric and the proportions of your dress, and make what works for your body. All our instructions are based on your measurements and your personal choice, making it the ultimate playground for sewing fun.

We have illustrated three different versions of dress length and frills, alongside our sleeve and pocket options, but the choice is all yours - create as many layers as you want, with as many or as few frills as you want! Delilah is a blank canvas for you get creative with.

The only pattern pieces provided in this downloadable pattern are for three different types of straps/sleeves, and two kinds of pocket - an in-seam side pocket and a patch pocket, which provides extra front skirt detail. The Wiggle Strap is a variation of a simple strap, but with a bit of extra ruffly wiggle; the Flutter Strap gives you a bit of shoulder coverage with some subtle gathering; and the largest sleeve piece is the Flutter Sleeve, which provides maximum shoulder and upper arm coverage, plus a little of bit wiggle too! 

These comprehensive instructions are appropriate for all adult body sizes, and children too - bearing in mind that the larger sleeve options may not be appropriate for very small children. 

Fabric suggestions:
Cotton, poplin, cotton lawn, cotton viscose, double gauze, seersucker - any lightweight wovens that are not overly slippery - we would not recommend viscose challis or lawn for beginners.
